I support funding municipal police departments and providing them with the tools they need to keep us safe. We must repeal the cashless bail system that allows for the release of dangerous criminals and restore judicial discretion in bail determinations, especially for defendants that pose a threat to the public or are repeat offenders. ![]() In July, the Ithaca Police Department investigated 11 burglaries at businesses throughout the City, and the Tompkins County Sheriff’s Department and State Police investigated multiple reports of commercial burglaries in Towns and Villages in Lansing and Dryden that took place at a church, ice cream business and grocery store site under construction.Īnd in Homer, Cortland County, the Police Department is reminding residents to lock their vehicles after a recent rash of break-ins. Hodge has been in custody at the Tompkins County Jail on 2,000 bail or 4,000 bond since his Oct. Payne was charged with criminal possession of a weapon in the second degree and criminal possession of stolen property, and was arraigned in Centralized Arraignment Court before being held at the Tompkins County Jail on $2,500 cash and $5,000 bond. ![]() They were both arraigned in Centralized Arraignment Court and are being held at the Tompkins County Jail, Henry on $2,500 cash and $5,000 bond, and Volckhausen without bail. Henry and Volckhausen were both charged with burglary in the third degree, criminal possession of a weapon in the second degree, grand larceny and criminal possession of stolen property.
